Course Registration and Cancellation Policy

This outlines the policies we have regarding payment, cancellations and certificates. Not all information may be listed, please contact our office at (705) 526-3853 if you should have any further questions.

PAYMENT

Payment confirms registration and is required at least one week prior to course date or sooner if there is a wait list. If a wait list is started for a course, unpaid candidates will be notified. If payment is not received within 3 business days of this notification the spot(s) are forfeited as payment confirms registrations. For those with an approved credit account with First For Safety, an invoice issued acts as confirmation of registration. Invoices terms are typically 30 days. For those with a Master Account Solution (MAS) with the Canadian Red Cross, a formal email confirmation is sent and acts as confirmation of registration.

CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULES

Cancellations and re-schedules must be made no less than 5 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR to the scheduled course by phone to 705-526-3853 or by email jennifer@firstforsafety.ca. Cancellation/rescheduling within the 5 business day period may result in a $50 - $75 cancellation/reschedule fee if we are not able to fill the spot. Those who fail to show up to a course (no-show) and who have not provided at least 36 hours notification, forfeit payments. First For Safety reserves the right to request full payment for cancellations without 5 days notice. All refunds are subject to a $15.00 processing fee.

Please note that First For Safety reserves the right to cancel a course if deemed necessary due to unforeseeable events, pandemic lockdown restrictions, or inclement weather, and will make every effort to place candidates in an alternate course. If a suitable alternative cannot be found, a full refund will be provided.

GROUP RATES

Group rates apply both in our public course calendar and for private courses. WITHIN THE PUBLIC COURSE CALENDAR: If you schedule a minimum of 6 candidates for First Aid & CPR/AED training or a minimum of 4 candidates for safety training courses, and pay or are invoiced prior to training, we offer excellent group rates. PRIVATE COURSES: Group rates may start at a minimum of 10 paid or invoiced candidates for a one day course, and 12 candidates for a two-day first aid and CPR/AED course, though variables apply for other types of training. COVID-19 Training restrictions may alter this number. Please request a quotation that meets your training needs.

CERTIFICATES & RECORDS OF TRAINING

Candidates are responsible for correctly and completely filling out their Candidate Information Form at the beginning of each course. The spelling provided is used to complete data entry with the Canadian Red Cross so that certificates may be generated. First Aid and CPR/AED certificates are accessible at all times from your MyRedCross portal. For those looking to access their Working at Heights Replacement Cards, here is a handout to support you.
