Blended Learning - First For Safety

NEW PROGRAM! In response to concerns around physical distancing we are excited to now offer a program that meets the same WSIB regulatory requirements in a new format blending online learning modules with a short in-class skills session.

STEP 1 - COMPLETE THE ONLINE LEARNING MODULES Online learning allows students to access self-paced, interactive and multi-media modules at their own convenience from any computer or device with internet access. Each module requires students to engage in audio, text and video learning experiences before successfully answering questions to proceed to the next module. A temporary proof of training is provided upon successful completion of all modules, and gives participants 60 days to complete their in-class training session for full WSIB certification.

STEP 2 - ATTEND AN IN-CLASS SKILLS SESSION Following the completion of the online learning modules participants are required to attend an in-class skills session. These sessions led by a Canadian Red Cross Instructor are focused on the practical skills such as performing CPR, how to correctly use an AED, and splinting, for example. Participants gain hands-on experience in these small group sessions without sharing equipment and in compliance with physical distancing requirements as we move forward. Students finish training with a multiple-choice knowledge evaluation which assesses both online and practical learning.

The Blended Program in it's completion meets legislation requirements for provincial worker safety and insurance boards (WSIB in Ontario) for all workplaces/sites and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
