First For Safety is a Training Partner for the Canadian Red Cross

The Canadian Red Cross has revised the Babysitter’s Course program to include more emergency first aid response content! Participants are required to bring a lunch, a notebook and a pencil case.

PREREQUISITES: 11 years of age + at time of course

MATERIALS: Babysitters manual, course materials, and certificate of completion

COURSE CONTENT:

  • How to be responsible and demonstrate leadership
  • How to make good decisions and manage difficult behaviours
  • Information on children’s developmental stages, and specific strategies for each stage
  • How to feed, diaper, dress, and play with children and babies
  • How to recognize and prevent unsafe situations, make safe choices and promote safe behaviours
  • First aid skills
  • The business of babysitting

Additional content taught at First For Safety: What you need in a first aid kit, how to use a fire extinguisher, internet safety, and more.

PRICING: $55 +HST per Participant. Please note payment is required to confirm registration, please call for details.

*This date is a PA day for all three local school boards: SCDSB, PSSBP, and SMCDSB.
