First For Safety is a Training Partner for the Canadian Red Cross

Comprehensive two-day Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED course offering lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) skills and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training for those who need training due to work requirements and for those who want more knowledge on how to respond to emergencies in the community and at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial worker safety and insurance boards (WSIB in Ontario) for all workplaces/sites and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

COURSE CONTENT: Content includes chapters in The Red Cross, Preparing to respond, The EMS System, Check Call Care, Airway and Breathing Emergencies, Circulation Emergencies, First Aid for Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest, Life-threatening Wound Care, Head and Spinal Injuries, Bone, Muscle and Joint Injuries, Sudden Medical Emergencies such as diabetic shock, Environmental Emergencies, and Poisons.


  • CPR Level C (Infant, Child, Adult), or
  • CPR Level A (Adult only)

SCHEDULE: 9am to 5:00pm - A one-hour lunch period as well as two short breaks (AM/PM) are provided throughout the training session.


  • Successfully demonstrate skills and critical steps
  • Min. 75% mark for written knowledge evaluation
  • Attend and participate in 100% of the course

CERTIFICATION: Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Certification valid for 3 years from date of issue; Recertification may be completed within the expiry date of an original certification. View our recertification course page for further details.

  • Certificates (Digital, Print): Certificates are issued digitally usually 1-3 days from the course date. The Red Cross policy on issuing certificates is to have them to participants within 10 days, however, we like to get them out as soon as possible. If you require proof of training, please mention this to Jennifer upon registration or course date. We give everyone the option to have a complimentary printed wall certificate and laminated wallet card available for pick-up or mail.


  • $145 + HST per Participant
